The J.J. Nassau Service Award Previous Page Return to Awards Page Dr. Jeanne E. Bishop Presented to Dr. Jeanne E. Bishop on November 6, 2008 for her many years of intellectual encouragement, inspiration and outstanding leadership. Dr. Bishop has helped guide the Cleveland Astronomical Society for almost as long as she has taught science, astronomy and been planetarium director for Westlake City Schools.  Dr. Bishop was president of C.A.S. from 1991-94, the longtime Recording Secretary and presently acts as the Program Chairman. When a position with C.A.S. needed to be filled—Jeanne came forward and completed the task in an outstanding manner.    In addition to her work with C.A.S. Dr. Bishop has been: ·  Past executive board member of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific ·  Past president of the International Planetarium Society ·  Past president of the Great Lakes Planetarium Association ·  Founding member of the Cleveland Regional Association of Planetariums    Quoted from Bob and Ingrid Sledz:    “Jeanne and her late husband, Alan, have been devoted, generous and hard working members  of these organizations for the past 30 years.
